the end of the year typically brings reminders of all the things we didn’t do during the last 365 days. we’re reminded of the pounds we didn’t loose, the trips we didn’t take, the money we didn’t make and the things we couldn’t buy. we generally feel disappointment and frustration when we first glance backRead the Post

Tonight we held our 8th annual back to school dinner. Each year we choose a theme that we focus on, as a family, throughout the school year. This year we chose to focus on the Light of Christ and our role in sharing that light.
President Thomas S. Monson taught, “Each of us came to earth having been given the Light of Christ. As we follow the example of the Savior and live as He lived and as He taught, that light will burn within us and will light the way for others”.

I am grateful for this family tradition that includes opportunities for our children to grow intellectually and spiritually. I am grateful for the special father’s blessings Kevin gives each child to support and comfort them in the coming months. Mostly, I am grateful for my Savior and for the Light His gospel has been throughout my life.

8 days on the East Coast is NOT for the faint of soda lovers hearts! Came home to a fridge that lost refrigeration during our trip resulting in hundreds of dollars of lost groceries. Why does real life have to be so deflating sometimes? Like, couldn’t we have come back to a million dollar check on our doorstep? So, first stop, @swigdrinks to tackle the “back to reality” grind!
